Located in northwest Orange Township in Delaware County, Lewis Center was founded in 1850. The city was named after William Lewis who gave the land for a railroad station in exchange for naming rights.


This small unincorporated town is bounded by the Olentangy River on the west and Alum Creek State Park on the east, south of Polaris and north of Worthington.  


With a higher than average income, Lewis Center has seen a lot of new home growth. Since 2000, this area has become one of the largest growing areas around.   


Lewis Center is home to a lively and growing retail and restaurant sector. All along US Rt 23, business growth has been nearly constant. The Polaris shopping area draws thousands to the area to shop & eat.


One of the latest up and coming mixed use planned communities is Evans Farm. Offering a creative mix of retail, office and restaurant space with homes from loft apartments to townhomes to large, full size luxury homes. Evans Farm has a variety of outdoor, family friendly pursuits within walking or bike riding distance. A European village in Lewis Center, OH.

Alum Creek State Park

A 4600 acre park in Delaware County with a wide variety of activities.

From boating, fishing, camping, swimming, hiking, birding and disc golf. There was a reservoir built in 1970’s to help control flooding along Big Walnut Creek. Creating what is now a very large body of water for locals & visitors to enjoy.

This amazing park was built by volunteers in 2005-2006. They have meet ups and many opportunities to give back through volunteering. There are 2 fenced areas for small and large dogs as well as fenced on water areas for the swimmers. This is a great asset to the area.

Highbanks Metro Park is so named for the high shale banks that tower the path of the  Olentangy River. The park contains many hiking trails, shelter houses, Native American burial grounds, and scraping from glaciers that shaped the area. There are playgrounds and a nature center. This park also offers a Day Camp program.

One of the Preservation Park System of Delaware County's parks with many trails and wildlife viewing opportunities. The best part about this park for families is the Off-Trail Exploration Area. This area is a floodplain where shale pieces and sometimes shallow water is meant to be explored and enjoyed.
